Short Mat Section’s - Opening Day
I am delighted to confirm that the Club’s Short Mat Section’s opening day is Monday 7th October 2024 (a few days earlier that previously publicised). The Mats will be officially opened at 1.30pm, followed by a roll-up.
Organised roll-ups will then be held at 1.30pm on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday afternoons. We also plan to arrange a number of competitive games against other short mat clubs in the area. Please note that all times quoted are when play starts, so you need to arrive 15 minutes before these times to be included.
A special session is being organised for members new to short mat at 11.00am on Saturday 5th October. A few of our more experienced players will be available to show you the ropes, explain the rules of short mat and give you some practice time. Please contact me in advance if you would like to take advantage of this opportunity (which is highly recommended if you plan to play short mat or want to ‘give it a go’).
We very much hope to be able to hold the full list of internal competitions, but this will depend on receiving sufficient entries. All members are encouraged to take part – whether you are experienced or new to short mat.
